Building is not safe

No one has a clue at network homes, constant problems with sorting anything out with them. There responses are just standard auto responses with nothing actually being done on time. I agree with all points raised. How could we be allowed to purchase the property if it was not properly fire proofed, let everyone move in then a year later all of sudden realise?!

I totally agree with this petition. The flat is unsafe and Network Homes has bad service! No response to emails and I also don't understand why we pay for service charge for nothing. These works need to be carried out and completed immediately because it is very dangerous! It shouldn't take months, it needs to be done and sorted now! The ceilings and walls in the communal areas are horrendous. The building works are not even complete. The communal staircase from second floor upwards has no tiles it stops after the first floor. There's also works and loud noise outside overlooking Asda side, i dont know what's being done- but visually nothing! All of this is ridiculous, there's so much more to list!

Several people signed off this building as safe knowing that was simply not true. We were given incorrect fire safety information for a whole year (stay in flat). This stems from the developers and is linked entirely to cost saving (and profit margin!) Network Homes as building managers, however, are quite simply incompetent on the most basic of levels and I have lost all faith in them.

I hereby endorse the petition as the premises are not safe.

Network must take action for all the inconveniences created and for the unsafety provided to all residents living in Avery and Bree Court. I agree with all the points emphasised in the petition.

This is the most incompetent housing association I've ever come across. They still haven't set up my account for service charge payments. I had to ring them several times just to ask for the outstanding balance. I'm expecting full compensation for this and will be refusing to pay any further.

I am disappointed with all the work being done and no deadline provided. Now I fear that this will probably carry on for few months or years and the prospect of having walls being knocked down and replace is something I am not looking for. Nedlessly to say that all of us has put a lot of work onto our own flats and now we are to face a lot of disruption for what should have been done long time ago. I hope Network Homes will be reasonable and tackle these issues as soon as possible and offer us all some type of compensation.

In light of recent events we need to pull together and hold housing associations to account so thank you for organising this petiton. As many of you have rightly pointed out, we have invested life savings to buy here so to be continually fobbed off is unacceptable!

I totally agree with this petition. I've already initiated the complaints process with network homes, and found they don't really take it seriously. Very slow response times. However, it allows for this matter to be taken further if they don't resolve this issue in a satisfactory manner. This does appear to be an act of NEGLIGENCE, possibly illegally signed off to sell quickly as the developers started to run out of money. Of course this depreciates the value of a home, who would want to buy a home with the hallways in the condition that they are, knowing there are fire safety defects and with what happened recently at Grenfell tower no one would go near this place. In the event Network homes would not repurchase we will effectively be stuck with an unsellable home. One of Anthony's responses to this was none of this affects the value of the flat because inside the four walls is still ok to live in. Anyone with common sense knows this is not the case. The value of a home is determined by more than what's within four walls. It's the safety of the building/neighbourhood, area, schools, transport etc the list continues... Who is happy with the ceiling smashed in for months for apparent "emergency repair work" when there doesn't seem to be any sense of urgency. Does anyone see anything actually being done? Because I don't. And why would I want this massive fire alarm in my flat now stuck on one of the walls? Future invasive work inside my home? How is this possible, people have lives and have to go to work etc, I won't leave my door open while I'm not here for people to come in and out freely taking apart the walls and ceiling etc. This is seriously wrong! We should all get together collectively and pursue this, Legal action should and must be taken to the fullest extent. No more of this nonsense about everything is fine, things are being done etc.

I have 2 small kids and this place is not safe to live in after hearing the shocking information on negligence at the last meeting (I have it all on audio if anyone wants to listen to it ) . We all paid big money to live in a finished, safe and new development only to be turned into a building site only months after all residents moved in. I asked for an exit plan as in the current state I don't feel safe here and with a special needs child, it's not doing anything good to him seeing all the builders, loose cables, and plastic on floors causing more fear in him . I have to consider getting a rope ladder now, it's not what I paid all my life savings for . Plus the noise coming from the new shops being build for over a year now makes me hardly want to keep he balcony door open & I work from home. This company is a joke. I am ready to fight to the end so you have my full support .

Frustrated with kind of service treatment we are getting here.

Very unhappy with the purchase. Don't feel safe in the property with two very small kids. Don't enjoy living in the property cause of all these disturbance.

Needs to be sorted asap, we have not paid all this money to live in a nice building which is now considered unsafe and also looks a mess, due to corridors being hacked to pieces.

Thank you for organising this! These buildings are not safe at all in current state and our voices need to be heard .
