Dear Prime Minister Netanyahu,
We write as American Jewish Zionists, in response to your statement on Wednesday Dec. 9 that you “reject Donald Trump’s recent remarks about Muslims,” but will still meet with him. (http://www.timesofisrael.com/netanyahu-rejects-tru...)
Republicans and Democrats alike, including elected leaders of both parties, have described Trump's statements as racist, hateful, and beneath the dignity of any American. Muslim Americans deserve that their equality be championed by every potential political leader, just as Jewish Americans do - just as every American does.
The American Jewish community rejects Trump's hate on an organizational level, and based within Jewish values.
You, Prime Minister Netanyahu, have a powerful role to play in the Global Jewish community. You sitting with an unflinching symbol of hate and a loud mouthpiece for what's worst in American society is not only a source of Jewish embarrassment - it wrongly suggests that Jews stand with Trump.
Please do not meet with Donald Trump, Mr. Prime MInister. Call off the meeting.

The PM of Israel must stand for equity, fairness, and morality as Israel does. Meeting Mr. Trump gives legitimacy to hatred, discrimination, and immorality all of which are against what the State of Israel stands for. Trump would only use the meeting to try to legitimize himself.
As Jews we have a responsibility to welcome the stranger. To not succomb to hateful rhetoric and to protect the stranger. Mr Trump is triggering more hate in the country and is starting to practice the same behavior that we saw trigger WWII against Jews. Do not welcome him!
The Prime Minister of Israel must not give photo-ops to extremists who threaten our freedoms. Just as PM Netanyahu should not meet with LePen or the head of UKIP, he should not meet with Trump.

I implore you PM Netanyahu to not meet with this man. Jews have an ethical responsibility to be "ohr l'goyim" and what better way to show the world our core values than to have the Israeli PM refuse to meet with someone spewing hate and bigotry.
Donald Trump is a terrifying example of all that is wrong with America right now. He is an example of the hate that is running rampant and is an embarrassment to our country. Furthermore, you should not be getting involved in American politics prior to a presidential campaign. You will weaken Israel's voice if another candidate is later elected. Think about if you just replace the word Jewish for the word Muslim. Hate speech is unacceptable in a civil society. Please do not associate yourself with hate.
