Preface: DEADPOOL MADE ALMOST A BILLION DOLLARS WORLDWIDE because FOX (That's you guys) actually listened to the FANS!
The Alien universe is bursting with fascination and potential. It's a travesty that the people who were in charge of everything after Aliens ruined it. BUT there is hope for restoration! There are 2 reasons Blomkamp is the man who WILL revive the post Aliens universe.
1) The most important fact is that he himself is a HUGE Alien fan. These are the only people who should be touching the Alien canon. If we had someone like him handling Alien 3, 4, AvP, AvP2, you would not have wasted money and sacrificed time developing shallow, unexciting excuses for sci-fi horror stories.
2) Each of his previous works has been visually, narratively, and emotionally miles better than most directors of ANY genre we have currently or that we've had in a long time. Visually, his team's CGI renderings are near flawless (thanks, WETA Digital) and you can definitely tell by his original work that he grew up on Alien & Aliens...
Another important point I'd like to make is that Sigourney Weaver & cast are not getting any younger... If we lose her or Michael Beihn or Bill Paxton (Hey, it's possible they cocooned him and he escaped underground! Just sayin...) then we lose the most effective factors to redeem the series and to make you guys ridiculous amount of money.
But I think the most important reason this should happen is for the fans. Even though nothing after Aliens has gone the way we would have liked, we still love and dream about the terrifying and mysterious lore that we grew up with. Please do this. Thank you.
