Neighbors Against the I-440 Interchange at Granny White Pike

Please no!!!! Keep 12th S local, walkable and residential!

This interchange won't make a large impact on traffic in Green Hills and will very negatively impact traffic/pedestrians/lifestyle of the 12South neighborhood.

I think any vehicular interchange whatsoever would have a terrible impact on Granny White and the neighborhood. Granny White is already congested and has its own problems. This would turn it into a real mess.

I oppose the construction of a 440 exit on Granny White

As a resident on Gale Lane, I support the removal of the interchange from the recommendations.

This would have a seriously negative effect on the area. We need to protect quality of life wherever we can rather than allow the actual, visual destruction that comes with noise and toxic emissions cars bring.

This exit would be a disaster for the great neighborhoods of Hillsboro, 12 South and surrounding areas.

An interchange at this location would require widening 12th Ave/Granny White Pike to achieve an acceptable Level of Service for traffic. Other issues to consider include Section 4(f) with Sevier Park and Gale Lane Park, significant right-of-way costs for widening 12th/GWP,

This interchange along with "improvements" proposed in roads east of Hillsboro road, appears to shift traffic but not solve the root cause of the problem, too many cars on the road. I applaud the inclusion of biking, mass transit and pedestrian options in the plan but wonder if these should be implemented first where possible to try and encourage people to get out of their cars. Maximizing mass transit should be a priority and shifting park and ride options as proposed out of the most congested area along with increasing service will help. I would suggest that the transit options should extend far south of Green Hills, perhaps to Mack Hatcher to allow for more people to take advantage of this option. For many, parking cars after driving for 20 minutes into town makes little sense at all. Hopefully, a balance will be achieved but putting money into REMOVING rather than shifting traffic makes sense. Additionally, the proposed shift of traffic EAST of Hillsboro road does nothing to account for the existing cut through options WEST of Hillsboro Rd. and forces those on Hillsboro to consider left turns across northbound traffic during peak hours if they find themselves on Hillsboro road in gridlock. In summary, consider both sides of hillsboro rd for local "improvements" if such options are considered and put money into infrastructure that preserves the "feel" of our town and the health of it's citizens.

Can we please find a solution that utilizes the present reality instead of a 30 year old bureaucratic vision which was obsolete then. Oppose

I am against an interchange going in at I-440 and Granny White Pike.

I am highly opposed to an interchange at Granny White. This is a biking and pedestrian friendly neighborhood. An interchange should not be put in the middle of a neighborhood onto a 2 lane road with crosswalks nearby. Residents have moved to this area because of the option to safely walk to neighborhood spots. None of the roads connected to Granny White can accommodate the traffic that would result from an interchange. Please consider residents and traffic repercussions and permanently remove the interchange from all plans so that the land can be used for positive purposes.

This is a ridiculous idea! Our neighborhood cannot take the traffic. Franklin Rd. is the best option for an exit off of I-440. It is 5 lanes on a highly commercial street.
