Neighbors Against the I-440 Interchange at Granny White Pike

This would be devastating to my child and me as well as the countless others who walk to and enjoy Sevier Park. The traffic and pollution would harm this wonderful place and the experience of the families who so love it.

I thought the idea of urban neighborhoods was to slow down traffic, walk more, and bike more. Sidewalks, bike lanes, shops close to the street. I fear that an exit in the neighborhood will just make it into yet another commercial-corridor speedway.

An interchange here will do nothing to alleviate traffic problems

granny white can not handle the current level of traffic. this would create gridlock.

The neighborhood is already clogged with traffic. An I 440 interchange would bring wall-to-wall cars.

I had no idea this was happening until I saw the no exit signs granny white - that park is safe, rare in nashville.

Please don't put in a 440 interchange, it's not good for the neighborhood.

A exit ramp at Granny White is not a feasible long term solution. If Nashville wants to make a statement as a "Green" city that is progressing then a more long term solution must be explored. A better public transportation system would cost more on the front end, but would truely send a message that Nashville is progressing. As an inhabitant of Germantown I would love to be able to take a form of public transportation to Green Hills that is quick and easy.

I grew up in this area and even though I now live in Smyrna, I work off Granny White and take my child to Sevier Park frequently. The interchange at Granny White would cause too much traffic in a neighborhood that has recently been revitalized and a community of walkers/riders. This interchange would ruin what this neighborhood has become.

Use Franklin Road instead!

I formerly resided in the area where the proposed interchange would be located. I must tell that 12 south's beauty would be greatly diminished. I currently live outside of Nashville but have many plans of moving back and would hate to see a big, ugly interchange in such a beautiful place.

Building an interchange at 12th undoes nearly everything we have done to create healthy urban neighborhoods in this part of town. Add to that the fact that 12th simply cannot handle the traffic load that an interchange would introduce.

Please preserve this already too traffic burdened street and neighborhood. A better site for an off ramp is at 8th Ave. where there is already a 4 lane road. Having a 2 lane Road handle this much traffic is insanity! There are building and condos being built on 8th that are right up to the sidewalk, so parking and traffic are already at a standstill!
