Is it important for your family to have a home located in an area that provides safety, open spaces if that is what they have chosen, good traffic control and schools that are not over crowded? If you approve this overcrowded residential development, you will be taking these things away from 60 families in Hampton East who have chosen and worked for this way of life and will be depriving over 1000 families from having them.

I can not conceive why people would want this in our community. Its just too much for that small of an area. We are not Atlanta. Lets stay the 7 hills in the valley. I chose to move here from Virginia Beach, Va. My husband and I took a road trip looking for a place to retire too. You are ruining Rome, by allowing this packed in development and all the problems it will bring. Don't be greedy by developing more homes when so many are empty now.

As a resident of Hampton Preserve, I strongly object to this development using our small neighborhood entrance as an access point. We have three small children and the traffic would be a significant danger to them.

Thai neighborhood would set a precedent unseen in Floyd county. Families did not move to this area to be surrounded by congestion and volume nor to have our own neighborhood altered.

The current roads are already dangerous. The proposed entrance through Hampton Preserve would make that area extremely dangerous. Proposal cites city annexation. Yet East Central has mobile units now .

The current roads, and water supply will not support this development, further by having 1,100 homes enter onto Hamilton Blvd it would put undue stress on the adjacent neighborhood.

Pleasant Valley Road is very unsafe. It has multiple blind curves and intersections. People have been killed on the blind curves. It has been consistently flooded during the past year despite clearing of the drainage ditches.

As our leaders begin valuing money above quality of life, the Rome, Georgia we all know and love will cease to exist. This development will add plenty of money, but will ruin the quality of life for hundreds of Romans who have lived here for years. Unfortunately, the thousand or so new citizens would never see the community we see. They may as well live in an impersonal mega-neighborhood in Marietta.

We need NOT sell our community to someone, or some group of people, who DO NOT live here. Furthermore, these out-of-towner investors, do not care about the consequences of adding volumes of traffic to the insufficient infra structure of our roads, and also of adding large numbers of students, to a school system that is already suffering to keep up with the present numbers.
We need our voices to be heard. Please get involved now before our children suffer the consequences.

The road they would use for access is the same road that our neighborhood pool and walking trails are on. Many families walk to these from their homes, and that much traffic would be dangerous. Our neighborhood roads are already in need of repair, and Chilio Road is narrow and winding (similar to Horseleg) with a blind hill near the light at 411 that there have been multiple pileups on, including at least one fatality. This kind of increased traffic would require that hill to be flattened to avoid frequent and serious accidents, among other traffic, lighting, issues. A development of this scope bears no similarity with the feel of the existing neighborhoods or surrounding country, or what was ever planned for that space. Finally, the zoning is disjointed now, with Hampton East/Twickennam homes being considered “county” and these, farther homes being considered “city.” Many of our existing neighborhoods (considered county) rely on access to East Central because it is our closest school. How would these numbers affect that option?
