This event did include all who chose to attend and gave neighborhood families an activity to do together with their community.

My kids love the movies at the park night. The park gets typically used less often at night, so this makes the experience as a family more fun.

Just looking at the above photo makes me want to go to a movie in the park! It reminds me of the good old days when we went to the drive-in. I don't understand why this type of community activity isn't allowed. It's not hurting anyone and is actually getting kids outside and away from their computers and phones. It's a wonderful family activity.

WE moved to Huntington Beach a year ago for the “small town” connected feel. We were lucky to catch a movie in the park last year and LIVED it. We don’t understand why this can’t cintinue. All are welcome and it builds a bond in the community.

These are wonderful community events open to everyone, sad the city won’t encourage more community bonding.

Family events at local parks provides a great service to local community. Something I have always loved about Huntington Beach.

Too much government interference! Our tax dollars pay for the parks! Remember you government agencies work FOR US!

What a shame! The last movie night was a sweet and small community event...seems like the very best use of the space possible to me!

This is a great opportunity for our young children or grandchildren to enjoy a movie, it is fun and I expand gives you a change to socisoeith your neighborhood! No children are playing at the park when it is dark anyway! I think they should be allowed

Parks should be for neighborhood events where neighbors can get to know each other, to socialize and to have fun together. Isn't that what parks are for?

Movies in the park only uses part of the park. It brings together families in the neighborhood with their children for a fun evening. The park is usually empty at the time the movies are shown.

These movie nights help build our community. It’s disappointing that the city is canceling these events. :-(

Movie nights occur in parks without incident throughout many California cities, county areas and State park areas (Crystal Cove, etc). Often these occur with corporate or local business sponsorship. These events provide opportunities to gather as a community and offer residents free opportunities to enjoy themselves outdoors in the summer evenings. They typically are held in a section of the park and do not exclude others from enjoying the remaining park area. This park in fact, is often host to local kids sports practices and game days that occur without complaint during weekend mornings. So, what gives with having a movie night? Finally, this park is not well lighted at night, so the movie-night crowd is not likely preventing others from using what is a "dark space". Movie nights at Moffett Park promote family use of the park when no one else is using it. The City seriously needs to think about their use of this policy which was probably initially intended to regulate use of sport and recreation fields, not to preclude publically open neighborhood gatherings even if company sponsored. Stringent enforcement of this policy by the City means that no one is using the neighborhood park after nightfall.
