Nehemiah Martinez Ineligibility

I am the step mother to this beautiful child. The state did nothing but refuse the right for this young man to have the peace of living with his father. At the most critical age of a young man's life when a boy needs his father most......the very thing the state will make a man pay child support for. The age when men are taxed or charged for being away in work and large sums are paid to a mother to raise a child. My husband took that honor on gladly with no hesitations. He did exactly what the system sets up for faulure. He took on his child as any great father would. Then because of a Friday night football game called a UIL rule which in truth is modern slavery the child was punished. This issue is larger. This is a issue of slavery. The former school wants a workhorse and therefore it turned into a football coversation. All the while ignoring the mind of a young black man. Heaven forbid he can run a ball(or pick a field of cotton) with out the ok of a group of people who have zero knowledge of his mind!!! Goodness he was born strong and smart?!!! Shame shame shame on who we are as a nation that we allow slavery to abide. We will let you run a ball (dance in our formal dinning for entertainment) but we give you zero input on where you dance or how you shine. Just tap and sing just tap and sing slave child. This is the system. I as his bonus mom will not stop until his story is heard and until his dad just being a great dad in a dad less time is heard. I will fight to the highest courts. No mercy.

Where’s the proof?

Okay really people, it’s high school football. Students move campuses for various reason ALL THE TIME. Lubbock is one of the best public aceademic school in the state and LISD schools are becoming more and more undesirable for high achieving students . It makes a lot of sense and he would want to move schools. Football and other extra curricular me are important in the shaping and career of high school students. It seems sad to me that a student would be denied the right to participate in a beloved high school sport just because he decided to move to a better school.
