Wait till your toddlers can not go and be safe at the park, get poked, and live with hep c all their life. Idiots ! Maybe waste our taxes by putting a cop at every park 24/7 ?

Our city and any city for that matter should not be giving needles out so our drug addicts can safely inject. Hears a thought, if someone comes in looking for needles send them to rehab. Don't aid in there drug problem!!!

They should have to bring back there used needles to obtain a new one! There are far to many needles Laying around because they get them for free and are to drugged out to bother picking them up knowing they can just get a new one. And then turn around and leave it laying around Again!

Trying to help make addicts safer and cleaner is great, but not at the risk of the public. You would think priorities would go to those who pay for this city to run, not those who bring it down with their choices.

How about opening up an addiction treatment facility to actually get to the root of the problem and get the drugs off our city streets

I have been complaining about this quite loudly to Arches and City Hall for a while now. I spoke to Jill at Arches who is full of stats and takes the position that if they didn't do that we would see a rise in the general population of Hep C and HIV. My thought on that is that it will mostly effect those using and not the whole city like the needle crisis is now. There is no "exchange program" as they claim. Anyone can go get as many needles as they want without question. In addition to that I have been told the dealers are now getting needles from the safe injection site. pre-filling them and selling them. I even got a call from the Mayor a couple weeks ago who is totally pro arches. The only person fighting to get change is Councillor Joe Mauro whom I have also spoke to. Call him with your complaints and concerns because nobody else is listening.

Have a return policy, or a refund for them. Maybe then they take them back.

I live in Hardiville and have found needles beside my fence. They've been in the park as well. There needs to be restrictions on the free needles.

if people have needles in playgrounds what else could be there? and what is wrong with people. There are trash bins everywhere how hard is it to put them into there. Sick kids are more at rick of getting sicker and other kids can get sick from this. its just ridiculous. Someone NEEDS to do something, its just suck!!!

I absolutely support the harm reduction approach, but more needs to be done in keeping our public spaces safe from harmful debris and behaviour.

it may not be a solution, BUT at least it's a start to help limit the collateral damage caused by the growing drug problem in this city.
