Just picking my son up from his pre school and there was needles right outside the doors. Something needs to be done.

I think there needs to be better exchanges for the users for our protection and theirs

I feel the safe injection site is a bandaid and allowing these addicts to continue their illegal habits. They should not be rewarded for their behaviour.

I live in a part of the city (Kinsman Park area) where you can't walk two blocks without seeing evidence of intravenous drug use. The most saddening part of this problems is that I also live a few blocks away from an elementary school and a beautiful public park. We see children every day, multiple times a day, in these areas that should be safe for them to use without worry. I am not a parent, but if I were I'd be very concerned for the well-being of my child playing in the park or simply walking to school. And while I'm not a parent, I am a dog owner, and even walking my dog on a four foot leash is worrisome. Multiple times we've stumbled upon needles in places that are way too accessible. I'm worried that one day my dog might stumble upon something before I see it and injure herself. This isn't an unfixable issue. We hardly ever see police patrol in this part of the city, we never see clean-up crews keeping the park clear, and I'm sick of it! If needles are being supplied, then they should also be controlled. The solutions offered in this petition are a good start to that - I suggest they are listened to.

I understand this is a tough situation to fix but it’s a shame that such a beautiful city’s downtown has become a garbage bin for such filth as used needles and human fecal waste. I don’t even take my family down town anymore. The sentiments I’m feeling are growing quickly around town as I hear discussions daily on this matter.

If this program does not result in weaning addicts off drugs, the program is NOT worth the tax dollars spent. All this program does is bring addicts, dealers, more drugs and more crime to the city. NOT WORTH THE TAX DOLLARS!!!
I also believe controversial programs like this should be approved by referendum, not our liberal mayor or councilors!

I agree I do not want my kids due to curiosity touching a dirty needle you can teach them not to but curiosity kills the cat so to speak

My kids safety matters much more than the safety of an addict CHOOSING to get stuck by a needle. The children aren’t asking to be stuck by a needle with potentially deadly life changing diseases. The addict is. Their problem, not mine or my children’s end of story!

You leave sugar out you'll get ants.
Feeding their dependencies is Judy fueling the fire, none of this should be happening.

Why should innocent children/animals etc be subjected to the litter and ignorance because we’ve accommodated people who use....

This is a big problem. My dad is an elderly man and lives downtown and has to watch out for needles. It's disgusting. Wake up mayor!!!
