We need to have tougher laws in place to stop the drug trafficking. Meanwhile we are having our quality of life downgraded with having to deal with all the associated problems.

Yet again, the many suffer because of the few who choose to do drugs and make bad choices. More effort between the City, the Police, and Arches is required. City Council and Officials need to make some harder decisions and fast. Also, the SCS should not let any needles leave their premises - use it and hand it in before anyone is allowed to leave the site. Gone are the days you can let your children play in the parks unsupervised. Sad.

It is sad we live in a world that special interest drives policy. The safety of the population should be paramount, and in this case the needs of the addicts secondary.
The first time a child encounters a health issue as a result of the new policy, the city will soon learn the liability associated with poorly drafted policy.

Innocent lives are at risk. We as tax payers look to our elected officials to do what is right for our communities. I would hope that our Mayor and council will open their eyes and put a stop to what is happening.

Look in the alleys around the parks in the London Road Neighbourhood ....it's scary and not getting better.. Not only kids walking there....
Our health is no priority but spending money for a funny "Bike Boulevard" is on top of the list.

It seems the City has created a haven for drug users at the expense of the safety and vibrancy of the community.
I have had to go past addicts and drug paraphernalia to even attend my downtown church.
I feel the problem has worsened significantly this past year and that drug users from other communities are now moving to Lethbridge to use our free drug programs.
Are these programs providing help or supporting the continued addiction of a growing drug user population?
Is there a long-term plan?

The city has done lots for the users - cleanups under the bridges, in parks, the injection site - now it is really time for city to do something to ensure our safety & the safety of our children. In my opinion, things are getting way out of hand.

My almost 3 year old granddaughter had to be taught by firefighters and paramedics what to do if she finds a needle. It's horrible that our children/grandchildren this young has to know these things. She knows what to do but not how to call or how do they understand the difference between a needle and a diabetic needle to say?
