Needle Exchange Program

Thank you for taking a stand. This is insanity.

I agree, the city is not taking care of the majority of its citizens. For a city that promotes equality they should be protecting it's citizens from drug debris instead of simply saying call a number and look ahead. The mayor is suggesting that some of the people who use drugs are mentally unable to understand a needle exchange program. They are able to obviously understand how to get drugs. They can also understand needle exchange. Please make our city safer. Stop making innocent people pay the price for the city's poor choice in handling the drug crisis.

This situation is getting out of control! Having these safe injection sites doesn't seem to be helping either. If we don't get a handle on it soon, Lethbridge will no longer be a safe place to live, if it isn't already.

It's got to stop! Why are we putting drug addicts ahead of our own innocent children. Free needles and a safe injection site puts the entire general public in harm's way. It's not right.

Let’s stop the nonsense and help protect out children and grandchildren! No more free needles!!

Stop handing out needles make them go to safe injection site and let a trained professional inject it for them...or use this money to get them the help they need...handing out needles is NOT WORKING!!!!!!!! Our children grandbabies ourselves our in danger...Wake the F...K Up !!!!!

Something needs to be done this is outta control

Safe injection sites should be exactely that. An injection site. NO needles leave the site for any reason but used needles will be accepted for safe disposal. Why are we taking a chance of infecting our children or one of them dying from used needles they have found thrown away by someone who chooses to do drugs with no regard to what potential risks they are causing to our children. Please please stop the distribution of needles onto the street.

This is beyond out of hand, use there is a high return ration for the used needles, but there are more out there because of this. Now the people with the problem are not only using their own needles now they have a surplus of them. They are found more often since these programs have started. To blame children and parents for parks not being safe is complete bull snot. We parents shouldn't have to worry about taking our kids to the park to have fun and play thats why the park is there. I hate the fact that these needles seem to be multiplying and the blame and responsibility is passed on to parents of children.

This is so disappointing how bad our city is and their is nothing being done just disgusting how much we f this crap is lying around our city and parks

Please protect kids. We find needles in our playgrounds so often the only way to protect them seems to have my own playground in my yard. I don't want to have to home school too to keep them safe.

The distribution of needles needs to STOP I hate that I have to worry about my child getting poked by a diseased needle on a trip to the parks in our city!

This is a terrifying problem for residents and especially children of Lethbridge. It is also more than a downtown core problem. Needles are being found in every corner of the city including by sidewalks and in parks in subdivisions. I am afraid to let my children ride their bikes where we live for fear of them falling down and getting pricked as needles were found a couple blocks from our north side home. Our number one responds to keep our kids safe! Lethbridge needs to do something immediately to stop this madness!

I lived in Lethbridge for 5 years and the amount of drugs period, is this city is staggering. It's a sobering thought that a small child can't even be safe playing in the confines of a place of a supposed safe haven. It breaks my heart that a baby, toddler, a child or even a teenager can have their life torn away from them, due to absolute neglect and no one assuming the responsibility for giving drug paraphenalia to those who are not in the right frame of mind. They don't care where they are doing it as long as they are getting their fix when they want it. Not that at one point they didn't care...but during their addiction, they simply don't...because drug addiction is careless and selfish. Please, please sign this petition!!

This is absolutely ridiculous. Why are we helping junkies to shoot up and financing naloxone in case they OD when there are kids with diabetes and epipens spending hundreds of dollars for something they have no control over?!

This is out of hand!! What you’re trying to do isn’t working! We found needles by our elementary school in the north side as well! Don’t wait for something tragic to happen to innocent people!

How is it that criminal junkies are permitted to hold the general population hostage?

Aren't we a society who once was against drug abuse why are we now a society who is condoning this behavior Clean up our Streets make them safe for our children

Hand out needles to junkies like it's candy, and endanger the rest of the community. Only an IDIOT would think of this. The mayor just brushes it off. As such, he needs to resign, and so should any moronic city counselor who agreed to this. I can't wait for the rally.

This is a problem in Vancouver also. My 3 year old picked up a needle on the beach. Diabetics in my family can scarcely afford needles but we give them to addicts free. Addicts that contribute nothing to society.
