My son found three needles on his way home from school. Should not happen....embarrassed that our city allows such and supports such.

Children's safety always comes first. My son in in the class of the 6 year old who brought the needle home. Right outside the kindergarten doors. My child's safety is more important. Period. If you're system compromises that, it's not a working system.

This is terrifying. None of us should have to live in fear of this contamination because Lethbridge is under seige of drug use. We have a lot of children in this city, and that poor boy who was pricked with a discarded needle should serve as a wake-up call to us all. We are in an epidemic. Our families deserve better.

So I think I understand the situation.........the community provides the facilities for the users, the community clears up after the users, the police and ems provides assistance and help ........ so what do the users provide in payback for this apart from a continued drain on public resources and a daily hazard to citizens in the community. Sounds like a good deal to me ??

I find needles daily in alley behind my employer. Phone needle hotline for clean up and takes a day or two sometimes.

We need to help the addicts get off the drugs not enable them to keep using. My 9 year old daughter walked into a public washroom to see someone using. That should have never happened to her!!!!

We need to protect our children and youth from drug use and from not getting infected by used needles found on the street side that are accessible to them. HIV (AIDS) Infection has catastrophic consequences and the government needs to take responsible steps to keep those needles in the building and under control, so the drug addicts who are not the "real" victims. Help is only good when it helps somebody to become independent NOT dependent.

I'm finding needles and paraphernalia on the front stoop of my home. This means these addicts are sitting on my property, using drugs and discarding their dangerous trash literally feet away from me as I sleep. I do not feel safe on my own property. Happy to sign this petition with hopes that something proactive begins to happen.

At the very least, needle distribution should be on a one-for-one basis; if the addict wants more needles than they return, they should have to pay for them.
