My son Kevin turner Was wrongfully charged in a crime that we felt deserved more investigation on. My son has never had any violent or sexual crimes in his past .he was cornered and felt pressured in taking a plea bargain for 17 years to serve 9 in prison. While in prison my son has completed his case plan and has maintained his focus on getting back in court and being released due to his lack of culpability in his case. Kevin was notified in July 2020 that he was rated a high risk but the severity level of his crime was a 5 .the parole automated guidelines recommended him to only serve 36-60 months but the parole board has departed from the guidelines and has set his TPM (tentative parole month) to September 2026 .Kevin has a max out date for 2027 and his TPM is by far to harsh of an recommendation. I am asking for the parole board to please reconsider my son for an earlier parole date because he has no reason serving so much time on a crime that he would have been dismissed on if given proper representation . I am asking for those with a heart to understand the bias and defamation that has taken place in my sons case. There are many other cases involving the same charge but 90% have been determined for the inmates to serve close to a 3rd of they're time . this system is so stereotypical and has to be changed .My son is well loved in his community and has a lot of support from all walks of life . he is a father and has a beautiful family to look after he doe not need to be in prison . We are asking that the courts mitigate his case or the parole board reconsider they're decision . please help ...thank you
