Their regulations are hard to find on their website, and not very clear. I agree that it's unclear what is expected of students, and that has led to a lot of confusion and ticketing with myself and every other student I know.

Parking needs to be more chill. I tried to move back into my dorm after a break and because of Yates Lot being seized for the 4 tailgating people, I was not allowed in the lot and I had to park in the parking deck and carry multiple storage containers of stuff to Randolph.

188 dollars for a parking ticket is absolutely absurd.

There have been times I haven’t gone to my 11am class because I knew I wouldn’t find a parking spot and didn’t want to walk 20 minutes to my class

OMG i agree 100%! I am so glad that someone is finally talking about parking services, I had no other outlet for my grievances with this at all. Thank you for bringing this up! The severe lack of parking, especially for me as a late person is so frustrating! One time my emotional support chinchilla had an accident on the floor, so i was late to my dance theory class and then there was no parking! The pure arbitrary nature of the services has really aggrivated me! I very much hope this petition leads to real change and is effecitve at completely reforming the petition. Its time we retake our parking!

The parking space is not enough. And I believe there can be more space for students as various location.

This is definitely a result of a lack of communication between parking services and the student body. I completely agree and hope it improves int he future!

Parking services definitely can be accessible at times. I agree that growth is important too!

I agree! Parking can definitely be improved in accordance with the combined input of students, faculty, staff, and parking services.

Here I am paying hundreds of dollars every year for a pass, which should grant me the right to park in designated areas; however, even THOSE areas I pay for are taken away from me and reserved for events—further, I am then ticketed for parking in a spot I paid to be in! This is infuriating and unethical.

Thank you for sharing! I here you out and I hope we can get their attention. I hope parking services will start a more integrative dialogue with us in the near future and with future classes at William and Mary as well.

Some solution is urgently needed for parking on campus. I’ve had a good experience with the parking dept (helped me jump my car, responded to appeals eventually), but decals cost too much for there not to be a even slightly convenient space to park. We need a garage, or transportation to lots for students (golf cart services?).

I am off campus for large portions of the day, most of which is during normal class periods, for my major requirements and internship. However, because of the limited parking on campus, I am consistently missing meals in order to make it to my car and get to where I need to be and am always parking far away from my dorm. This is a major problem for me now, and I know for a fact that it is going to be worse for me during my three remaining semesters on campus due to how often I will have to be off main campus for class or work. There have been multiple days in this one semester alone that I have been concerned for my health, safety, or both. And anything to fix that would be increasingly helpful to my college experience.
