This property has been zoned for an anchor grocery store with other small businesses in the past and had great community support. This plan should not be discarded against the community's wishes now.

This area is not zoned for an apartment building and I do not want to see the city override the zoning board recommendation. This is a residential area of single-family homes and an Over-55 community. An apartment building does not belong here.

Opposed. Traffic on Buffaloe RD is already out of control with virtually zero policing of speeders and noise. This project will only serve to make the situation much worse.

Very opposed to apartments at this intersection. Heavy traffic, turns are impossible, can't even take a walk in this area now for fear of being hit by a car!

I am Diametrically opposed to building an apartment complex of 350 units on the corner of New Hope Road & Buffalo Road.
The traffic on that corner every day morning and night is horrendous. With people driving into work in Raleigh and leaving Raleigh to go home, Buffalo Rd. has become dangerous. Especially the intersection of Valley Stream Drive in Buffalo! A much smaller apartment complex of 100 units would be more desirable or Shoppes.

Adding 350 more apartments would cause a much greater traffic problem to an already busy area. Traffic and accidents are already bad in that area.

Rezoning AGAINST the existing Comprehensive Plan needs to PRIORITIZE adjacent and nearby property owners.
The City of Raleigh planners and city council, like it or not, are the fiduciaries for it residents. Together they are responsible to put the people of Raleigh ahead of potential developers. The residents are the capital which makes Raleigh what it is. Not the buildings. Especially not another stick-built, mass residential structure straining local resources. I have lived in Raleigh for almost 50 years and I still remember the names of the council members that sided with developers in the 80’s. There is a reason a comprehensive plan was funded, planned, researched, studied, and put in place. Honor the people who would be most affected by your decision. The people that want to ensure loved ones return home from work safely, the people that want to know emergency services wouldn’t be further delayed due to existing gridlock, and that their city cares about them enough to hear and understand their voice and sees the development of the future of our city as something well thought out and not a haphazard burden.
Our daily lives and most likely the largest investment of their lifetime would be only some things to consider that would be affected. There are better choices to be made. Be creative with an oft overlooked section of the city. Take the time needed to do so. There is no rush. Make an impact. Don’t let it be impacted. The current City Council of Raleigh, in its short time as convened has already besmirched its name and needs to now look how to further repair itself as well as its favorable opinion with those of us that vote and pay attention. Because we may not regularly make our voices heard publicly, but we never miss a chance to vote. Not even the primaries.
