These cafes have what Starbucks lacks -- ambiance and character. Let Starbucks keep their sugar-enriched versions of the baked goods and return the old recipes to the cafes, which is what made them successful in the first place.

Ne laissez pas fermer La Boulange! Peut-être, avec cette signature, ça sera un pied de plus vers le fait que Starbucks ne la fermera pas.

its a terrible shame to close La Boulanger, the Bay Area needs cafes with character to match the people that live there. The "dumbled down" brand that Starbuckes promotes just doesn't "move the needle" for most people.

These are cultural refuges for many of us. It is a wonderful way to have your taste of France and do something ever more important in our society ... Take a moment and slow down enjoy your meal

Hi, I am deeply saddened to hear about the closedown of la a Boulange by Starbuckd. I am totally against it, as there is nothing quite like La Boulange. I hope this helps stop the process. Vive La Boulange! Josette SchwartZ

Why? I used to LOVE Starbucks and even LOVE MORE La Boulange, the rare real French bakery in the bay Area with great tasty products (not like the American bakeries trying to taste French). After Starbucks bought La Boulange 2 years ago, I was surprised and curious about what will come out of it, but Starbucks literally killed the quality of La boulage and now is wanting to kill the name/brand as well. What a waste. A great team created La Boulange and Starbucks with all its means should have given it wings, not killed it. Where will we go now in the Bay Area for good French bakery and ambiance. I am VERY disappointed in Starbucks.

I am very sad and upset to see such a beloved institution being threatened by those who bought it to make more profit on it. I have been living in the U.S. For 4 years now, and every time I feel homesick, I run to La Boulange to buy a baguette or to eat a warm goat cheese salad (well, that one has already been erased from the menu, because "it didn't sell enough", I was told). I can't believe Starbucks wants to close the bakeries, that so many love around the Bay. If they do so, I can guarantee I will never EVER step in a Starbucks again.

Please don't close La Boulange. I love the food, the ambiance and they are so conveniently located to public transportation. PLEASE keep them open!

La Boulange is part of our community in San Francisco - please either keep them open or offer the chain for sale so we can continue to enjoy our wonderful bakery/gathering place.
