When osb first came out and stated tests were recommended it was with a 72 hour window before arriving. 7 days prior serves no purpose and let’s not forget only adult pro/and have to be tested. No judges. Not officials. Not vendors. Not kids!! I agreed if you are going to have testing a shorter window would be great but regardless we are all traveling to get there. Unless you get to Ohio 10 days prior to the comp and isolate then your test is meaningless

So much misinformation and cherry picking of my posts to create this slander and defamation against me. I have retained legal counsel and appropriate action is being taken place. Consider this a warning. And people signing and commenting you are being told one side that was cherry picked to try and damage me because I called them out and posted screen shots from their private pro/am hate group that has a TERRIBLE reputation on Facebook. I never said I was not getting a covid test. I said getting one 7 days prior to traveling is not effective. Unless you get a test then self isolate you aren’t making anything safer. You ca easily get covid traveling, eating out, Uber rides etc. it’s a false sense of security. And regarding my post they didn’t post a screen shot of my template that was written in Microsoft paint and literally said “ I do not have Covid”. At this point this is a smear campaign

There is no place in any organization for the actions and responses to concerns about those actions as displayed by Brian and Lauren Baker.

This behavior crosses the line. The NDCA needs to step up to the plate and act!

Mr. Baker is not desirable person in dance community. His behavior is just beyond a joke.

I was asked to share an article I wrote recently about how behavior like the ones described here has affected me this year, even when I don't know the person. Being a dancer, I've always held myself to a higher standard of human and I thought every other dancer did the same. https://treetattoodance.medium.com/after-seven-months-im-still-grieving-d778820ee9f3?sk=643f2a947d04a254cfb9f69e23e4b56c

Efforts to undermine people's ability to stay safe and make intelligent choices are disgusting and morally wrong. Terrible for the struggling dance world.

I applaud Ohio Star Ball for adding an extra layer of safety with their COVID 19 Mandate. It is unconscionable that any individual would undermine a safety requirement by encouraging people to get a fake COVID test result. We must protect our world of dance.

In my personal opinion BRIAN Baker should have his NDCA membership revoked and should not be able to participate in any NDCA event for 1 or 2 years

His actions have had a chilling effect on my return to competition and studio practice.

After reading hateful rhetoric on FB numerous times from Mr. Baker, I chose to block him from my page. I can’t support people in our industry who make light out of others who have died from the serious virus (make it a hoax) nor would I feel safe attending an event Mr Baker is present at.

Mr. Baker's behavior was both unseemly and illegal. It has, most probably, hurt attendance at Ohio Star Ball.

I signed earlier but want to add comments. I am attending Grand Nationals this week and am very concerned about sharing the floor with Brian. I am entered into the GN Challenge in which he is participating and I am highly considering boycotting that event for fear of my safety and to make a statement that his participation and wanton endangerment of our dance community is not ok. That would of course be unfair to me as a participant as I would like to compete in that Challenge, but I really don’t feel safe around him.

So much of the Ballroom World is suffering during this pandemic. Mr Baker added to that pain.

I support respectful behavior from both professionals, Dance organizations and students. Our dance community needs to be a “safe“ environment That is free from toxicity.Help us send a message that NCDA supports that idea also.

I do not know him personally, but am appalled that a pro is even engaging this way with customers. If he didn’t like the testing, he should have been a professional and voiced it to the organizer. He does not represent teachers, or the organization well.

The comments of Brian only add to dissent and mistrust. It’s hard for all my fellow NDCA members to know what’s true and what’s false, causing students to second think and maybe cancel competitions that greatly need revenue. It’s hard enough for all right now without all the stupidity of this man.
