Being able to test before an extended break is in the interest of all of our students.

I agree and stand with this petition to begin school earlier in order to end 1st semester before winter break. In addition to what was stated in this petition, the current k-12 calendar conflicts with college calendars as well. Please change this for the benefit of all our students.

I fully believe that high school students need to have Exams before winter break so they can use that time for an actual break and not have to stress the entire time. Also this year the exams extended into the second semester due to the snow. If exams were done before Winter break this would not have happened.

It is extremely important that this change be considered. Kids are placed at an extreme disadvantage with this current schedule. Common sense please.

As a former high school teacher, I experienced the semester ending at Christmas Holidays. It makes so much sense for students when it comes to their exams.

If we trust the schools to educate our children we should believe that they can plan a calendar that will work best for the children.

Not only would this improve test scores but it would allow early graduates to go to college in the spring semester.
