You pay taxes on the vehicle when you buy it new. When resold taxed again and again, I would say the government sure have their hands in people's pockets over and over again. It's no wonder, people are leaving or just scraping by. So sad!

There should be no tax on a second hand vehicle. Get your dirty hands out of my pocket.

This is just brutal the way they just throw things at us and just expect us to go with it same as the increase in the registration price of off road vehicles (atv snowmobiles ext) from 16 to 42 without warning or justification.

I Bought a quad bike a couple of years back and they wanted me to pay the tax on the book price. The bike was not worth 4500 at the time i bought it, this was before the new law came into effect. Luckily I was able to get it appraised for what it was really worth and paid the correct amount of taxes on it.

This is outrageous! Everyday NB taxpayers are struggling to get by and need affordable transportation to get to work,.school., etc. They need to be treated fairly when purchasing a second hand vehicle, and not Not be gouged with taxes for buying one. Not everyone can take the city transit buses.

It's happened to me. Unreasonable and unfair. Either take an appraisal or base the tax on the purchase price.

We have all used junk. We got a car for parts and had to pay tax on $4000 when it cost us only $400. The previous owner was going to junk it. We can't afford to buy a new vehicle as we have a child with medical expenses and having to pay more for tax than the vehicle itself is a real setback.
