NB Taxpayers demand to be taxed on vehicle purchase price, not government speculation

It's not fair when you are forced to pay tax on a vehicle based on a perfect scenario book value for that car's year/make/model, when in NB we have to buy rusted, busted pieces of junk to get around. There are no perfect vehicles in our province. We pay enough tax for the roads and what we have to put on the road.

This must change we do not calculate tax on other things like this we pay tax on what we paid!

Absolutely ludicrous to pay tax, on a vehicle that's been taxed several times before hand, at above what you've paid for it.

Just too many tax grabs from this govt in this province. Enough is enough!

if the goverment is going to set the value of a vehicle then they should also force the dealerships to give that same value as a trade in

It's ridiculous these prices that's for sure they should change it back to what it was before

This needs to be changed so you pay taxes on the real valve of the car.

I agree this system is flawed. Highest taxed area in North America and it's just another way for them to gouge the working poor.

We shouldn't be taxed in something we already paid taxes on already. We definitely should only have to pay taxes on what the vehicle was resold for not a book value.

Another reason "not to be in this place." Can this province and it's government ever get ANYTHING right. We are the laughing- stock of this Country and we are doomed!
