Thievery...that is the only way to explain what SNB does to people trying to put a used car on the road. I had to pay $780 in taxes, book value of $6000 on a car that I paid $200 for from a friend and had to put a ton of work into in order to get it on the road...

Paid 2500 for a truck and taxed on nearly 6000 when bought. Unfair taxation because of what others had done in the past.

I agree a high mile, beat up vehicle shouldnt be taxed to death because its not worth as much as one thats low mileage good condition. Taxes were paid one it when it was new, paying tax on a used vehicle to transfer is just another money grab.We are taxed to death, time for change, Thank you

Their shouldn't be a sales tax on any used vehicle. They have already been paid that sale tax when the vehicle was bought new.

Why should blue book be so private...its open to the public in the states...so why shouldnt i be able to know or look up a price on an automobile im buying to see how much its actually worth..it should be my right as well as having to deal with buyer beware policys.

It makes no sense to tax someone on a value that isn't realistic. No car holds up the same throughout the years. The price you pay should be the price you're taxed on; whether that be 10,000$ or 1$.

This has been going on for awhile now on All vehicles including recreational vehicles . It's more to discourage private sales. Make you stay in debt and keep you under control your're less likely to walk off your job ( if you can get one ,job that is )if you owe a loan.
