NB Taxpayers demand to be taxed on vehicle purchase price, not government speculation

I've been manipulated in thinking my 1500 was worth 4000. Wrong. Not with 300000 on it

This is ridiculous had a dodge ram i paid 900 for and before i could go change it over i had to put 3000 in to it just so i could get and inspection because i didnt pay over 1000 after all that time.and effort they made me pay the taxes on 2300

they do the same thing if you own a home in new Brunswick and do not live in it they double your taxes when you could use that money to pay off your house loam

Only asking for whats fair.

I had the same experience, 4000 dollar car, 1200 dollars in tax, thieves is what they are as the tax on this particular vehicle had been paid 3 times allready

They shouldn't be taxing private auto sales at all. This is a good first step though.

I agree. I have a 2005 Saturn that needs a new motor. The NB Government thinks my vehicle is worth $5500.00. It has no motor, 186,000kms, wrecked interior and cracked fender. Not even worth $500.

I am so fed up with all the government waste , both federal and provincial. They don't run their own businesses with defeciets, so why do they chose to run government that way??? Heads need to roll and they need to be accountable!!!

Tax charged has no basis in reality of vechile condition. Appears to be an abuse of people without income to purchase from dealer.

The initial "new car" sales tax is enough - used cars should not be taxed "at all"

Has happened to me, a few times.

Outrageous, i buy a vehicle that is not running and i have to pay tax on a based evaluation of perfect conditon; then afterwards try to collect it back. Nice decision , extra paperwork, payouts etc.

Have been gouged by this before bought a 2003 Ford Focus in parts/as is condition I paid 1000$ for it they tried to charge me taxes on 3500$ to register

This only effects people who can not buy or afford new vehicles it it so unfair but the government doesn't.tcare
