I hope you have gone through the proper channels for this petition. Did you know that in Canada, you must apply for permission to petition the government? We found out the hard way, after getting more than 1,000 signatures that we had to throw away.

Used vehicles should have no tax. Tax has already been paid. It's ridiculous that the government fights it's citizens on what the vehicle is worth to the point of robbery.

Bought a car, payed $250 for it, fix it then went to register it payed $1200 in tax to put it on the road ridicules.

This is because the government wants everyone to buy a brand new vehicle every two years and crush all the older ones regardless of the condition. they want to force all the older vehicles off the road and help out the new car dealers.

I have been writing letters to the paper etc. over this scam by the govt. This is nothing short of fraud .

I believe taxes were paid once on new vehicle should not be taxed again for buying used just pay transfer fee
