We the majority of people in NB live paycheque to paycheque and try desperately every month to make ends meet, many times having to pick between rent, power or food. NB Power has continued to hike up rheir rates despite NB being one of those lowest paid provincies in the country.
We believe it is time that NB Power step back and realize that it is unlawful to disconnect power when people are trying to pay their bills.
We propose new rules for NB Power:
1) As long as a meaningful attempt is being made to pay the bill that NB Power not be allowed to disconnect any household that has children or elderly living in it .
2) That NB Power should have a rate freeze in place for the next 5 years.
3) That NB Power should have to take into consideration the monthly income of each household in the province when it comes to bill assessment.
IT SHOULD NEVER BE LEGAL TO THREATEN PEOPLE WITH THE ONE THING THEY NEED IF THEY CANT GIVE YOU THE MONEY YOU ARE DEMANDING!!!

I agree! Being a hardworking mom working for just a little above minimum wage and my husband working as a labourer for one of the most dangerous companies in Woodstock nb we have two young children and have desperately tried to pay our power when I lost my job before this new one and when my husband was laid off work for two seasons. NB power needs to realize families don't always have the means but have the want to pay them and they should help. I also believe the government should have more help out there for low income families WHO WORK to help them if they need it.
The price gauging and inconsistencies are atrocious.
Rates are way 2 high. New meters r scams. They always find a way 2 over bill
LETS ALL GO OFF GRID SEE HOW THEY LIKE THAT!!

My bill went up 40 bucks for no reason this month. Cant keep living like this paycheck to paycheck while they raise prices every single year. Enough is enough.
