NAPS pension shortfall

BA is making billions of pounds year on year and all it seems to be interested in is ruining the lives of the employees that create that profit for them. I was promised a Final Salary Pension based on my NRA. I was later asked to reconsider my NRA but that the pension was still promised. Now BA have chosen to renege on all it's promises and assurances and hit everyone hard. First Officers/Senior First Officers are the worst hit and BA needs to wake up and realise the devastating effect their proposals will have on everyone.

The reasoning and offer from BA is completely unacceptable and an insult.

Unacceptable proposal and an opportunistic money grab from an employer making billions from the hard graft of long-serving, loyal staff. A Final Salary pension means exactly that, regardless of current position.

Final salary is salary at NRA. AnythIng less is theft. If BA wish to close NAPS to future accrual then the offer needs huge improvement & negotiation; years already accrued are NOT negotiable.

Closing NAPS to future accrual is one thing, changing already accrued benefits to Salary at March 2018 instead of final salary something completely different and is unacceptable.

The initial 'offer' simply isn't good enough, the transition must be improved for all NAPS SFOs

NAPS FO's are loosing hundreds of thousands. BA said we all had opportunity for command... NOT TRUE. Many were frozen in the year commands went junior (and if you think about it there are no where near 600 BARP captains (exclude ex BMI), so there definitely were not vacancies for us all in the one "junior" year!!! Also, the loss of ill health protection is frightening (to the very few people that need it, but it could be any one of us!)... going from a modestly liveable ill health pension to 5 years at half pay and then NOTHING is NOT acceptable for young NAPS members in their late 30s and in their 40s. In summary "NO NO NO NO NO NOT ACCEPTABLE" especially with BA making record profits and IAG buying other airlines and doing share buybacks (it has nothing better to do with 500 million!). So angry! Just shows how much BA value us.

The BA pension closure offer falls far short of what is required. Either the pension needs to stay open or a vastly improved offer needs to be made by BA.

BA should be ashamed of this back handed way at reducing loyal and dedicated staff's long term terms and conditions. A far improved proposal must be forthcoming.

A much improved offer needed from BA to ensure loyal staff are not disproportionately penalised.

Disgusted that after 30 years loyal service BA are now robbing us of what we have worked so hard for. Deeply saddened that this is the way we are all being treated.

This offer is below insulting to all hard working BA employees and needs to be drastically rethinked to be FAIR for EVERYONE

It is simply wrong to try and steal as much as possible of people's futures in an opportunist money grab

I've been paying into the scheme for almost 15 years. Under the current proposal, my "final" pay would be that of a co-pilot, whereas I (like almost every copilot) expect to retire as a captain on significantly higher pensionable pay.

I echo what has been said. Unacceptable.

This is theft pure and simple, it must not be allowed!
