Trustees have a duty to protect the accrued benefits which are based on salary on retirement, not salary in March. Anything less is theft. Actuarial assumptions must be reviewed to be more realistic when calculating the deficit.

Another example of BA trying to avoid their responsibilities.
Disappointing, but unfortunately not surprising.

We have all made long term life changing decisions based on the pension we signed up to on joining the company. British Airways signed those contracts just as we did. BA needs to honour the obligations it undertook when we signed our contracts.

No way BA! Accrued benefits MUST be protected along with a better deal for Naps P2s.

It’s wrong to close a pension scheme that employees have been relying on particularly if the alternative is so poor.

The current offer represents a massive cut in our terms and conditions. The proposed replacement does not come anywhere near compensating us for this loss especially the ill health provision.

A disgraceful attempt to take what is contractually ours under the guise of 'investment for the future'. No thanks.

To believe we will accept a 20+% pay cut without some reaction suggests a certain naivety!

This is a shameful money grab by the company. I've told them so as well. Fine to have a debate and maybe even some change, but the one-sidedness to this offer is staggering.

Pension must be calculated from final salary at NRD, nothing else. I have paid my contributions for 18 years in good faith on that basis.

Poor offer, BA need to contribute a lot more. Ill health package in particular needs improving.
