NAPS pension shortfall

The offer made by BA is totally unacceptable and insulting. They are going against the contractual obligation they made to me when I joined the company. At a time the company makes massive profits and can afford to hand out £900 million. It just proves they are more interested in profit and looking good to the city than looking after it's employees. NO WAY BA!!!

My NAPS pension was part of my contract when I joined the company and as such should not be changed at the whim of the company for the purpose of further increasing profits for the shareholders.

The BA proposal is unacceptable in its current form. Current gilt yields, actuarial assumptions and accounting bias have skewed the the obligations which BA are cynically manipulating to their advantage. Please review this significant impact on all NAPS colleagues.

BA's current proposals mean that my expected pension will be less than half of what I was expecting. British Airways, which we mustn't forget is currently a very profitable company, is hoping to take advantage of its employees and steal from their deferred pay.

This has potentially huge repercussions for the security of ourselves and our families. The Company has to respect the part its employees play in the Company's success. To not respect employees futures would be counterproductive and not to the company's benefit. Every effort should be made to ensure the future security of its workforce where at all possible. A second class alternative to what we as employees have planned for is not acceptable and every item should be looked at and every provision should be made to uphold our financial security in retirement.

I'm concerned for colleagues in the NAPS who, as flight crew, had a reasonable expectation of retiring on a captain's pensionable pay, rather than P2 pay point 18. This is a very significant change for those affected.

Final salary means just that. BA proposals fall way short at the moment

There is a distinct lack of information from BA. There are questions that need to be raised regarding the timings of the proposals and the assumptions made.

BA's proposal to drop NAPS is an insult to all people within the scheme. Many people have based important life decisions on the companys promises and are now being dumped.
