I had the honor and privilege to play soccer for Coach Cieplik for four years from 1985 to 1989. He was so much more to many of us than simply a coach. He was a natural leader, motivator, disciplinarian, father-figure, advisor, and a compassionate and caring mentor that took care of everyone he touched. To this day, I’ve never seen anyone match his values when it comes to honesty, integrity, and sportsmanship. While we were learning and growing into future leaders for the Coast Guard, he was a role model for so many of us when it came to being a person, father, husband, and friend. During his time at the USCGA, his commitment to Academy, the cadets, and their families was truly amazing. I cannot think of anyone more deserving of this type of special recognition.

I was privileged to be under his tutelage for my 4 years at CGA. It goes without question that he is one of the most influential men I had in my life and the lives of 1000s of other young men and women who became leaders of our great nation.

Played sports all my life and he was the best coach I ever had. He recognized my sports ability when I arrived at the academy while playing Flicker ball. Even though I had never played soccer in one rear he turned me into a starting center forward as a sophomore. I love this man.

I heartily endorse this petition in naming the lower soccer field after Coach C. I had the privilege to play for him during my time as a cadet (1978-1982) and coach with him from 1990-1993. Coach C has impacted so many people within the Coast Guard and outside the service, whether they be soccer players or otherwise! Please do this soonest!!!!

I was on Coach Cieplik's first CGA team. What a great coach and what a great run!

I had the privilege of playing for Ray Cieplik, and then being an assistant coach for him while teaching at the Academy. He has had an incredible impact on a large portion of the CG's Officers, many of which would not have made it through the Academy without his positive influence, exceptional leadership and concern for all cadets, not just the players that he coached!

Coach Cieplik taught me so much about leadership, on and off the field. This is a very fitting honor for him and CGA.

Coach Ceplik was instrumental in assisting with my application to USCGA as a soccer recruit after an unplanned visit to the lower soccer fileld on a Saturday in February 1980. I would be greatly appreciate naming this field in his honor.

I may not have gone to CGA were it not for Ray Cieplik and I may not have graduated. He and his wife Kathy added a little bit of home to so many cadet athletes. He embodies honor, respect and devotion to duty

Recommend heartily. Coach C. was highly successful as the soccer coach during my tenure as Superintendent from 1986-1989.
