Name the Boy's Gaga Court after Matt Cook and Jake Asman
Matt Cook and Jake Asman, two great men, one thing in common... Their love for the sport of Gaga, and teaching children. The two revolutionized the game of Gaga at Camp Canadensis with brilliant new ideas like the Gaga Buck, the national anthem, press box, and other fun ideas. They took a sport and made it a lifestyle, through the octagon they taught kids life lessons, self respect, and confidence where it was not found before. They created smiles and memories for the kids, fellow staff members, and themselves through their actions. These qualities are the qualities that camp counselors strive to achieve, and they both demonstrated them flawlessly. These are the types of names that should ring through the fields of the Pocono Mountains for years to come despite their possible abscenses from the camp. Whether near or far, they remain in the minds and hearts of the members of Canadensis, and should not be forgotten. To preserve their memories, names, achievements, and the Gaga program itself I believe it is only right that the boys' Gaga Court by the inter-courts should be named after them. The plaque should be placed on the side of the octagon where their press box once stood, possibly surrounded by a press box for future program heads. The spirit and fun the men brought to the octagon will be restored as long as the plaque stands in their place. They are both humble men and would not propose this themselves, however we their campers, friends, co-workers, and peers think this should be done in their honor. Please consider this as we (all who have signed) agree with this proposal. Cannot wait to play in the octagon this summer and see the plaque glimmering in the bright Canadensis sun! See you in a few months!
