This is a great idea. My mom and my sister support Laura's efforts to highlight the need for alternative transportation services on a continuous basis. There is no reason to even think that Ms. Deckelman doesn't deserve this honor.

A woman with a lot of love to have this Ferry Service permanent. I saw her many times during my rides to and from work and she was always very social motivating people to sign petitions to have this service as a permanent alternative for people in her beloved Rockaways. I hope the name the dock after her, absolutely well deserved for the hard work and sacrifice she put into this, and hope to see all the fellow Ferry riders in Spring 2017 (nothing compares to riding the Ferry, it doesn't matter what season we are in)

I met Linda several times while commuting on the ferry. She was passionate about maintaining the service, and mobilized many of us. I think naming the Dock after her would be the right thing to do.
