Coach Dabney was my principal when I first started teaching at Citrus Springs Elementary School in 1993. He was one of the most caring school administrators I have ever met. He truly loved each and every student with all of his heart -- and it always amazed me how he remembered the name of every child at that school (and we were the largest elementary school in Citrus County). He was the model of integrity and kindness, and was loved by all who knew him. I feel it a privilege to have worked for him, and with him. He is truly deserving of this honor.

When we moved to CR in 1979 Coach Dabney made the transition smooth for my brother and I. We came from a very small private school in KY to CR! I was scared to death! It didn’t matter what I needed he was there to help. He deserves this honor!

It would be an appropriate gesture to name the gym after such an influential educator.

I might not be here if it weren’t for Coach Dabney. I was considering ending my life because of childhood trauma. Coach knew I was hurting and loved me through it. He was just THERE for you. No matter what we needed. Thank you Coach.
