With deaths of Kashmiri students outside State continuing unabated, another mysterious death of a Kashmiri student studying at SRM University, Ghaziabad in Uttar Pradesh has come to fore. Abdul Manan Wani, a final year engineering student at SRM University, Ghaziabad, as per reports, was found hanging in his room on Wednesday night. While his body is yet to reach back his home at Chanapora, Srinagar, the reasons regarding his mysterious death still looms in dark as family reject the Police claims that the deceased committed suicide. While talking to Srinagar based news Manan’s father Ghulam Qadir Wani termed it an open murder. “My son was neither a weak person nor was he having any kind of financial or educational stress. I knew my son very well. How come police say my son committed suicide without having any proof.” “It is unfortunate that J&K Police did not co-operate with us. They are showing no interest in handling the issue seriously,” the family member alleged. The reports regarding Manan’s death, as per family, are contradictory and illogical. “As per the eyewitness, Manan was found dead in his room, hanging while as Ghaziabad Police say he (Manan) died on his way to hospital,” the family alleged. They also castigated State government of not providing any assistance to deceased for conducting post-mortem and other necessary obligations. “It were his classmates and other students from University who contributed from their own pocket to pay dues for conducting post-mortem, coffin charges as well as air lifting his body to Valley,” Manan’s father added.
