My Building Permit Is Taking Too Long! Please Help!

Wait shouldnt be more than 90 days max

This affects so much people. We really need this fixed, especially with the recession we're going through.

This is also causing delays in home sales to needy families.

A common problem that's worse here than most. Just fix it.

We recently finished building our house - it took way too long to get permits approved.

Let’s get the process fixed!!

Permitting on all islands seems to be ridiculously long.

DPP is getting worse & worse, need reform from the top down.

I rented a place for business. I was able to get 3 months free rent due to the work needed. But the permit took 16 month! The rent was $11,000 a month. DPP needs new blood. It is a Big Big problem! Bing

The permit process is ridiculously long. Even when we hire 3rd party permit runners, it still takes 10 to 12 months to get permits and for what would be considered a small job. It really affects our customers and our lively hood as contractors. Please look to other states to see what they do so we can speed up this process. It should realistically take a month or two tops to check over most residential jobs.

Prescreen is taking too long, residential owners are suffering big lost of time and money

Long delays results in projects not happening and increased cost.

While DPP always say shorthanded, they should simply privatize the entire permitting process. Let the outside professional handle. I remember I got my building permit in about couple months few years ago when I hire third party review. They appeared more professional and knowing what to do than the clerks in DPP

I've waited since October 2021 - now 10 months-- for a minor garage renovation permit for my home. Small homeowner project within existing footprint - the permit review delay is exasperating - and creates unnecessary problems for contractor, materials, roof leaks, rising, costs, let alone major inconvenience. Mr Mayor and DPP: Please set up expedited reviews for minor homeowner residential projects!

Submit revision on 02/2022, Until now still under frescreem.

Contractors and home owners continue to pay out of pocket due to the inefficiencies of the people who are supposed to be serving us!

9 months to one year is too long for anyone to wait. Perhaps privatizing the plan review process would streamline the effort.

Almost a year past, Prescreen didn’t past yet, still waiting, please help us to get the building permit, we don’t want to wait to get the permit need to wait 2-3 years. Thanks
