I live and work in New Kent and I'm ashamed that my tax dollars are paying the salary of the judge and law enforcement involved. Although this was a sad situation...I do believe the punishment to be harsh and cruel. This dog has not caused any trouble or harm previously....why is he being sentenced to death for his first mistake? First of all, he was let loose....have his owners pay for the damage and loss....and punitive damages. If this dog had been a lab or poodle...do we really believe his punishment would be so harsh and final?

I understand wanting to reimbursed for the chickens but because you lose some food I'm suppose to lose my heart and soul? what cruel neighbors you have.

File an appeal and pay for the chickens. Get invisible fence. Good luck. I know of a rescue pit bull that is an amazing pet for its forever home.

Restitution I can understand but to take his life is over the top. Id of gave him away an said he ran away before letting them kill him.

This is messed up a dog shouldn't be out down for just plqyin. I mean he Is like a child. Those chickens were going to be killed some time another anyways.

This is absurd! How can you kill a dog because of its natural instincts?! He was just trying to play with them! If a cat kills a mouse are you gonna kill the cat? No so why kill the dog? I believe the judges desicion was based on the fact this dog was a pittbul. If it were a corgi would you be killing it? Probably not because corgis are the crap right now and everyone loves them. So if you wouldn't kill the corgi you shouldn't kill the pittbul. It did nothing wrong. The judge and the stupid people who own chickens are in the wrong! dont kill that dog!! Case closed.
