They should receive the same as our men and women...they may not be able to speak but they would give their life without hesitation to protect their human

I work at an Animal Hospital and just tonight had a MWD that passed and we are ALL needing to pay our Respect and have this Brave Soldier laid to rest with FULL Military Honors!

100% think they should have the same treatment as any human soldier.

The MWD is an integral part of military units and should be honored in death as the handler.

They are fallen heroes who sacrificed their own lives to save others.

KIA MWD’s absolutely deserve at the minimum a Memorial were their ashes can be interred. A life well lived in the service of others to save lives of service members have earned the respect of our country they served.

It is disgraceful that this is necessary.

My cousin's dog had saved many lives before his passing while in Nam. Charlie should be honored as any other KIA soldier. I do believe they are buried together but I was young when it happened and only recall bits.

This is a no brainer. Should have already happened. Ask their handlers what the dogs are referred to in their unit!!!

War Dogs are just as much a soldier as anyone who has worn the Uniform of a US Soldier. The sacrifice just as much as their handlers. They must be honored and must never be forgotten. Many have served, and many have paid the ultimate price.
