Maintain 4th Grade Class Size at Murray Avenue School!
We adamantly oppose the current plan to reduce the Murray Avenue School 4th grade to four classes with 27-28 children per class.
27-28 students in a class reach and exceed the upper limits of the district’s class size guidelines for the 4th grade. Such a large class size is detrimental to our children, our teachers, our schools, and our property values. This is not acceptable to parents.
We, the undersigned, tax-paying residents of the Town of Mamaroneck, ask the Superintendent, Dr. Shaps, and Board of Education to restore the fifth class section to the Murray Avenue School 4th grade.

DO NOT DO THIS. 4th grade is a critical year. They need proper attention.
Bad idea. Classrooms will be chaotic and they wont learn anything. Fix this now.
My son is in this grade and he needs more support not less. Dont punish the kids just to save a few bucks.
Ridiculous. We pay way too much in property taxes for our kids to be packed in like sardines. Keep it at 5 sections.
28 kids is way too many for one teacher to handle. How are they supposed to get any one on one time? Shameful.
