Your children will be directly affected by a line item in the White Plains School District’s proposed budget for the upcoming school year 2012-2013.
-
For next year, the proposed budget calls for MAS to increase the average class size to 26.5 students, by reducing the number of 4th Grade classes.
-
This is a huge jump in class size and is currently unprecedented in any of the elementary schools below fifth grade. As a matter of fact, Church St. & Ridgeway are adding one more fifth grade class, lowering their class size for 5th Grade to no more than 22 students per class.
-
In the new budget proposal, our 4th Grade class will endure the largest class size in the entire district at the elementary level.

My son is in that grade next year and the class sizes are way to big already. How are they supposed to learn anything with that many kids in one room?
