The faculty of Memorial University of Newfoundland has no shared public space where it can meet outside of committee meetings.

We believe that a common space for faculty socializing and exchange of ideas is essential to the vitality of this university.

We request that President Kachanoski, as he currently reviews the usage of space at Memorial, consider restoring the Junior Common Room at Gushue Hall to its original use as a dining hall for faculty and guests, or designating some other suitable area on campus for a faculty club.
