To,
The Prime Minister of India (Shri Manmohan Singh),
The Chief Ministers (All States),
The Chief Justice of India,
The Chief Justices (All States),
The Home Minister of India,
The Leader of Opposition.
.
Respected Sir,
This is in view of the current brutal attack which was faced by people of Mumbai. At the outset, our heartfelt condolences to those innocent people, The Police Officers, Army, N.S.G. Force and Navy Force laid their lives for us.
We Salute Them
Every time we are faced with Terrorism. We tend to react in the same manner and much is talked about the Spirit of Mumbai people who face this kind of inhuman terror. We are advised to maintain peace & harmony and showcase our Spirit again & again. But there is a common voice which is spreading and that is, its high time we stop this kind of Brutal Terrorism and fight it head on. It is a time to reflect on our past mistakes & take action in the areas which need drastic improvement. After talking with several people, we have made a consolidated list of recommendations which needs your immediate attention and action in the areas suggested.
1. High priority to be given to security of public places. There should be a separate specially trained force (like NSG) to tackle terrorism and disaster management for Mumbai city.
2. Profession and independent management of the said specially trained force with an independent decision making authority.
3. Better allocation of funds for the improvement in security, purchase of high-technology equipments and weapons for the Police staff. Introduction of latest technology in investigation, intelligence & detection.
4. Demolition of illegal hutments and slums on a priority basis without any political interference.
5. Strict vigil at all the entry points to Mumbai (including Airway, Road, Rail & Sea route).
6. Security protocol at all places of public gathering, Hospitals, monuments, etc. (Even if it causes inconvenience to the people).
7. Better facilities for our police and army personnel who are expected to lay down their lives to protect the citizens.
8. Strict action against all corrupt officials/politicians who compromise on and/or tried to interfere with the strengthening of National Security.
9. Fast track Court proceedings against all foreign and local persons involved in antinational activities.
10. Stricter rules and norms for verifying the background of the guests checking into hotels in Mumbai/India as well as new paying guests, tenants, licensees, etc.
11. Except top State officials like CM, Governor, High Court Judges, No special security for any politician and they should have the same level of security as any other ordinary citizens or provide special army training for the politicians and officers, so they can only protect their self. In other words there should be Equality in providing security to All citizens of India/Mumbai.
12. Providing special training to citizens for action in crisis situation to ensure co-ordination between the citizens and police/security force.
In the end thanking you in advance for an early action to protect the lives of innocent people of India against Terrorism.
People of India.
The weight of the stories shared in the comment section serves as a constant reminder of why this conversation is so necessary. I am currently organizing our recommendations into a formal presentation for the officials who hold the power to implement these security changes. Your collective resolve provides the foundation for the serious dialogue we are now pursuing.

The scale of this response confirms that the demand for meaningful security reform is shared by many across the country. Seeing so many people align with these specific recommendations reminds me that urgency and clarity are the foundations of our collective resolve.

Heartbroken for the families. The government needs to wake up and stop letting these terror groups walk all over us. We deserve to feel safe in our own city.

Fix the intelligence gaps! Why is it always a reaction instead of prevention? Give our police the equipment they need and stop playing politics with our lives.

Enough is enough. My cousin was there and it could have been any of us. We need real security in our streets, not just talk after people are already dead.
