Dear fellow members of the body of Christ,
United Church of God has recently posted a Feast of Tabernacles update requiring the wearing of masks during the song services at all Feast sites regardless of state or federal mandates. See Link:

This petition is asking the United Church of God to withdraw this requirement for any feasts sites not required by a state or federal mandate. To allow each member to make their own personal choice to wear or not wear a mask during the song service. It is not a petition on whether we should be wearing or not wearing masks in general.
The first and greatest commandment is to love our father with all our heart, all our soul, all our mind, and all our strength. Then we are to love our neighbor. Romans 14 was cited as a reason on why we should be willing to wear a mask for song services. In Romans it speaks of not judging one another. Can we not eliminate this mandate and all not judge each other on whether we wear or don't wear a mask? Mutual respect in love for each other. There has been special consideration for those who'd like more precautions. Can the same consideration be allowed for those of us who don't want the additional requirements? We are simply asking for our choice to stay our choice. Allowing each of us our personal freedom to make decisions based on our own personal convictions.

I have grave concerns about the present administration prioritizing physical safety over spiritual health. Measures like this will undermine the faith of a generation as we are forced to explain to our children that either God can't protect us but a mask can or that those administering the Church can't be trusted to make sound decisions.
I don't think the pandemic is so severe as to justify requiring members to conduct their worship of God through song in an unnatural way, where it is not otherwise required by law. To my knowledge, there are a number of mask-mandatory Feast sites for those who wish to attend in that way.
Should be left up to each individual to decide. What is best for their overall situation. Were already have separate setting. So ones that want to wear a mask. Can sit with those that do. Those that don't want to wear a mask. Sit with those that don't. It's hard enough to have a conversation with one on. Let alone sing with one on.
Many are attending feast sights based on the requirements either way. As a compromised person, I will chose to protect myself the way I feel fit but I would never ask others to be uncomfortable for my sake. If I felt uncomfortable to be around unmasked people, I would stay home or sit in an area designated for mask wearers.
I will not be able to sing muffled and a big part of worship is adding our voices together in song. Those who are concerned about the virus are meeting in a different room where I am attending and I feel this mandate is taking away personal choice. It is no longer about obeying the law of the land even if we disagree with it.

No tithing without representation! Refuse to send your tithes to the boys in Cinci unless they allow you a voice in decisions that impact you or they show conclusive DNA proof that they are Levites. The Bible is clear, you are only required to give tithes to Levites. Numbers 18:21; Numbers 18:24; Numbers 18:26; Deuteronomy 26:12; 2 Chronicles 31:12; Nehemiah 10:37; Nehemiah 10:38

I disagree in UCG forcing us to wear a mask when we sing praises to God. I believe it shows a lack of faith. We aren’t tempting God by not wearing a face mask while singing praises unto him. We are catering to those who are fearful rather than directing them to God who can protect us from anything.
