I strongly oppose The City of Mission's recent decision to lease 112 acres of city property at the Mission Nature Park on S. Conway in Mission, Texas, to the Mission Skeet and Trap Club for the purpose of expanding the gun range and shooting activities adjacent to and along the paved Hike and Bike path. The leased property contains 3 miles of multiuse trails that are currently being used by Mission residents and people from all over the Rio Grande Valley for healthy, non-motorized recreation, including walking, hiking, trail running, and mountain biking. I believe the expansion of shooting activities poses a potential public safety risk to the estimated 12,000 persons using the Hike and Bike path annually, results in a loss of recreational opportunities that are not available elsewhere in the city, and harms the wildlife in the area.

I really thought this might just disappear into the digital void but seeing people show up for the trails makes me honestly believe we can actually protect those woods. It feels completely surreal to watch this momentum build while I am sitting here picturing the birds and the quiet morning runs that we are trying to keep safe.

I was checking the total just now and saw how many of you have joined in which is honestly wild because ten hundred feels like a real turning point for us to actually force them to pay attention to the trails. If you can quickly send the link to whoever might care about this park it could push us over that mark today while the pressure is actually building up.

I honestly cannot believe one hundred people have already signed this because I started it just to see if anyone else cared about the trails. It is kind of wild to think about that many of us worrying about the gun range expansion near the bike path even though I was honestly pretty nervous about putting this out there at all.

This trail system is one of the very few nice outdoor exercise areas in the entire valley. Don't take it away!!
Trails are great. I go every weekend to run while my kid rides her bike. It would be a shame to remove the trails.
Yea i know i live close to the trails too and go almost daily. I love mountain biking and ths the closest we have to mountain biking and they want to remove it, thats just not right
I live close to the trails why would you get rid of the trails for a gun range the valley hardly has any places to get fit we need more places like the trails to encourage a better healthy life
my family goes out there all the time. its crazy they want to put a gun range right next to where people r walking and biking. please leave the trails alone.
Save the nature park. According to the New York Post’s story, Hunter Biden in 2015 introduced his Father, then VP in the Obama Administration, to a Top Exec Vadym Pozharskyi at Ukrainian Burisma Holdings Ltd after Hunter joined the company’s board which was Paying him up to $83,000 a Month. The insinuation is that Hunter Successfully Influenced his Father to Pressure Ukraine Government officials “into Firing the Prosecutor Viktor Shokin, who was Investigating Corruption against Burisma. Facebook and Twitter took action to limit distribution (censored) the New York Post story citing Emails purportedly Revealing Evidence of Influence-Peddling by Joe Biden’s son Hunter Biden. The Emails were obtained from a Laptop which had a sticker from the Beau Biden Foundation, and had been Abandoned at Computer-Repair Shop, named “The Mac Shop” in Wilmington, Delaware and owned by John Paul Mac Isaac, who then reported the laptop’s contents to authorities which determined that the laptop and hard drive contain fruits of criminal activity. Joe Biden and his family engaged in "Legal Corruption" despite claims of no wrongdoing and the Liberal Main Stream Media Refuses to Talk and will never Report about Hunter Biden’s laptop and emails, fearing Democratic Presidential Nominee Joe Biden will Lose the 2020 Election if this information is exposed to the American People. This is evidence that Joe Biden participated in his Family’s CASH-for-Influence Scheme with Shady Foreign Companies. The American People should be demanding that the Media investigate this scandal before they VOTE, but we know, the Media will never report on Hunter Biden’s emails because it would be harmful to Joe Biden.
Love the trails!!

This is the only safe place to run, hike and bike.. Very saddened to hear it might come to an end...
