Proposal for a TRULY UNIVERSAL Employee Pass
I propose the implementation of a TRULY UNIVERSAL Employee pass for all employees who work under the Umbrella of the MTA
(Examples include: Metro-North Commuter Rail, Long Island Commuter Rail, MTA Bus Company, MTA Bridges and Tunnels, MTA Capital Construction and Staten Is Railway *SIR*).
What this will accomplish: This proposal, if implemented, will eliminate the unnecessary conflict between NYC Transit, Metro-North, Long Is Rail and MTA Bus Personnel (just to name a few).
As of current, on some occasions, MNR/LIRR Personnel are denied access into the NYC Transit system because of a miscommunication between the various agencies governed by the MTA; mainly by NYCTA Stations Division and on some occasions by NYCTA Surface. Though the occurrences are scattered; MNR, LIRR and MTA Bus Personnel return this “favor” to personnel from ALL Divisions of the NYC Transit Authority.
Although, it has always been my impression that the MTA is a STATE AGENCY, some of the personnel act as though some parts of the MTA are at war with other parts. It would, therefore, be beneficial that all parties be issued a universal pass acceptable on all forms of NY transit systems. This would alleviate, if not eliminate any problems amongst the various transit systems operating within the city and even beyond, in NY State.
I am hearing from workers across every department who are tired of these unnecessary gatekeeping conflicts. Post this link on your Facebook page and text three coworkers today to keep the pressure on management for a unified pass system.

its ridiculous that we have to deal with this drama at the turnstiles. we all work for the same agency anyway.
