Ms. Kristy and Members of the OCS Administration,
It has come to our attention that OCS Administration is making plans to combine Ms. Marlene's kindergarten class with Ms. Kelly's kindergarten class to create 2 new cohorts as they enter 1st grade. We respectfully request you consider keeping Ms. Marlene's class together as they head into 1st grade and beyond, and would welcome the opportunity to speak with you about this further.
We are making this request because for us, Ms. Marlene's class has exemplified the Waldorf experience -- creating a supportive community for the kids and parents -- both in and outside of the classroom. Our kids have now been together for two years, and have built a incredibly strong and supportive classroom dynamic and community with Ms. Marlene's guidance. Next year, our hope would be for the OCS Administration to maintain consistency for these kids as they settle into a new teacher and new classroom, something that is consistent with the Waldorf philosophy we value so deeply.
We understand that the school weighs many factors when making these decisions, but we do hope you will fully consider this perspective when making the final decision about class make-up for next year.

I have been scrolling through the comments all morning and honestly the stories about how much our kids have grown in this specific environment are just overwhelming to read. Things have been moving behind the scenes with a few emails sent to the administration office but I am waiting to hear back before I update you guys on the specific next steps.

The way this has gained steam over just the last day or so is honestly wild because I really just started this out of a late night frustration while looking at the school calendar. Hearing from so many of you who feel the exact same way about the class dynamic really makes me think we might actually have a shot at getting someone at the administration level to just stop and talk to us for a second.

Parker is thriving in her class, she gets along with all her class mates and we would all like it to stay this way. Thank you.

It’s not by design but pure blessing that this group came together the way it did. We have formed a group dynamic and bond that I know most of us deeply cherish and will do what we can to keep. Please keep our class together!
