What a powerful and intelligent group of young adults who put this together and have the strength, interest and passion to make this stand. I can only hope that their petition is recognized and duly considered.

Please take into consideration and listen to what students, my peers, YOUR students are saying. We all have a reason for being here, please listen to our voices as we try to succeed and uphold what the university stands for.

I stand in solidarity and complete support with our brothers and sisters at Seattle University. As a staff, alumni and advocate at Seattle Pacific University, I'm proud of these students for speaking up across the nation and saying "enough"- Prayers and thoughts of support your way.

I am not a student of the MRC, but I am in solidarity with their claims and demands. Once these folks receive what they are asking for, the change must not stop. Seattle University must reevaluate all of its departments, (including Athletics) for the MRC is not the only program that perpetuates various forms of systemic oppression. If SU is in fact a jesuit institution, then this will be done as it is a moral obligation. Do not evade our action by deeming the issues raised to be solved only by "working together." This is not our fault and we are not attacking anyone. We are working together to show you how you can be better - how you can be more respectful, relevant, and frankly, more educated. We are a team and we have our captains (students and adjunct staff). If you want to give us the respect and education we deserve, (and pay for), then reflect, adapt, and join us. Take a stand with us against the systemic oppression that America's educational system perpetuates. As it stands, the education you sell is not ethical nor is it wise. Please give use what we ask, and prove what you preach.

As a perspective student in the MCR program I am horrified to read this petition. I am looking for a program that the petition wants to create. Let me know what else I can do to help besides spreading the news.
