We need this. Our nation needs this.
The path is surely uncertain. Bold actions and honesty are required.
Count me in.

This is one of the most well-written declarations I have ever read. I applaud the women of the Class of '80 who participated in putting these thought together. I know it was a team effort! All lives matter, and until we as a society acknowledge and embrace that every person is to be treated with respect and dignity, we will continue to be a faulty USA. Let's all take that first step. Thank you for posting the very important message.

I strongly support the Moving Forward petition and note, with some embarrassment, the inclusion of my class's motto Omnes Viri as an example of misogynistic microaggressions.

So thankful that we have people that will not rest while injustice prevails. I hope that we can expand this a bit to include intentionally interacting with those that make racial comments due to ignorance or ingrained cultural values in an effort to educate them and help them reform. It's too easy to simplify punish someone for life without giving them grace and an opportunity to truly repent and become an advocate for equality (think St Paul or William Wilberforce).

I heartily agree. As part of the football team there, subsequently the NFL, medical school and positions within both the NFLPA and NFL Alumni the majority of my friends for the past 40 years are people of color. I have devoted my life utilizing these platforms to benefit those oppressed. I learned as a surgeon that after cutting through the skin we are all humans: exactly the same.
I would be honored to share my experiences in the appropriate forum.
