Add sex to your list because sex and gender are related but not the same, then your message is complete. I agree wholeheartedly with this state with that one exception as listed in my first sentence. I also accept the call to action. Post-op transwoman from Tuscaloosa Alabama.

Nothing can be more absurd than the practice that prevails in our country of men and women not following the same pursuits with all their strengths and with one mind, for thus, the state instead of being whole is reduced to half. ~ Plato

This initiative aligns with what USNA should represent. I am proud of our institution and grateful for all graduates that strive to make it better for all that come after us.

I am Class of 79 and sometimes use the O/V monitor when sending emails to my Classmates. I did not like the class motto when it was selected but choose to internalize it and make it meaningful to me. I welcomed admittance of women to USNA. it was long past due. Omnes Viri, to me, means the end of one era and the beginning of another. At the time, most of us probably voted for the motto out of hubris. We were proud to be the last all male class. I would have been just as happy to have been in the first class with women. It was what it was, a turning point in the history of the Academy.

I'm so pleased to see thsi effort within the Alumni Association. I am proud to stand among those who are anxious and willing to do our part to ensure true healing, and to condemn the ignorant and spiteful remarks by those who exposed themselves, and others who remain in the shadows.
