Move the Panama City Rescue Mission

We as concerned citizens of the downtown community of Panama City recognize the toxic effect that the rescue mission has had on our neighborhood. The rescue mission has become a destination for vagrants and transients from all over the southeast creating a blighted atmosphere downtown, smothering business growth, lowering property values and increasing the demand on police and government resources. The rescue mission management has thumbed their nose at neighboring businesses and property owners who have begged for the facility to be proactive in lessening its impact on the community nearby. It is in the best interest of the community at large to move the mission facility to an area that will create less negative impact on the downtown area allowing it to again blossom into a thriving downtown with merchants, customers, residence and visitors enjoying our unique waterfront city. It is time for the mission to become responsible neighbors and move from the downtown area. Read our blog at movethemission.wordpress .com for continuing coverage of this issue
