Please move the parade to the 1st Saturday before Thanksgiving and not in the afternoon, around 11:00 in the morning. If you have it early in the day it will not be dark when the parade is finished.

I lived in Mooresville most of my life, and I think moving the parade to the Saturday before thankgiving would be a great idea. I live in Davidson now, their parade is the 1st Saturday in December and there is a better turnout.

As a person born and raised in Mooresville, the parade has been a family tradition for us since I was a child. I personally have participated in the parade since I was a few months shy of 2. My daughter doing the same since 6 months. I agree with the potential of changing the day and time of the parade to accomidate more families and even out of town family members to come and enjoy a tradition that most of us have always looked forward to each year. The route could be improved as well, it does get a bit crazy but I feel the first thing to address the day and possibly the time. Thank you for the possiblity and for looking into new options.

Great idea. This would mean more people could attend and be involved in the family activities! Thank you for this!

The new planners seriously need to re-route the parade and have it travel in a circle so it wouldn't create such a logistics nightmare for parade participants after it ends. It's a chaotic disaster trying to get back across down after the end of the parade. Start at Merinos, travel north up Main, turn right onto Iredell, then travel south down Church, end back at Merinos. That will also give room for more people to spread out rather than fighting each other because they can't see due to people in front of them. As far as breaking a tradition, we don't want it broken, we want it IMPROVED. With growth must come change.

Please move it to Saturday or even a Sunday! I know the tradition is Tuesday but kids are in school and travel times are too hectic during the week..

I am all for Tradition but this year was simply uncalled for! COme on who was going to stand in that cold rain? And why does Iredell schools not get released early like the Mooresville schools? It simply does not make any sense to have it on a Tue or any weekday! Have it on a weekend where families can come out and enjoy it !

I was very upset this year with how this event was handled. Both my children cried that evening as they were both supposed to be in it but I praise our dance/gymnastic studio that felt it was unacceptable weather. I agree with moving this event to a weekend so more families could attend and it may bring more business for the businesses in the area because people wouldn't have to rush around on a weekday to get things done! Good luck!
