As previously stated...it is part of our history whether it is liked or not. Our country is built on our history and our future will go further also based on our history.

How do we learn from the past if we try to erase the memories?

The people of Meade County will be proud to display the Monument as was originally intended by the Kentucky Woman's Confederate Monument Association who commissioned the Monument and it's erection in 1895. It's also a shame to disturb a structure that is listed in the National Register of Historic Places!

Put the memorial in Brandenburg where it is wanted and would be given a place of honor.

Move it! Its crazy and sad that all the memorials are being destroyed. Such a shame and a kick in the face to our ancestors and our military!

The citizens of Meade County would be proud and priveledged to give this tribute to the brave men, on both sides, a home. We openly accept our past good and bad, and we refuse to be shamed or forced to hide our legacy by ANY minority group(s).
